Why should we choose phenolic insulation board as the insulation material for roof construction?

The winter temperature is quite cold, and the body feels very cold. At this time, we need to make a layer of insulation for our house. So the question arises, there are so many insulation materials on the market, which one should we choose?

There are currently three main types of insulation materials on the market:

Extruded polystyrene board:
Extruded polystyrene board is a type of foam forming material, mainly processed from liquid foaming agents and polystyrene beads. It has unparalleled insulation performance, high compression resistance, non water absorption, and wear resistance. It is widely used in roof insulation systems and is a cost-effective insulation material. However, due to the high strength of XPS board itself, it is more brittle, less prone to bending, and has poor breathability. It is not firmly bonded to the plastering mortar and is prone to detachment;
Polyurethane insulation board:
Polyurethane insulation board is an insulation board made of polyurethane hard foam as the core material and covered with a non decorative surface layer on both sides. It has many advantages such as low thermal conductivity, good thermal performance, moisture-proof and waterproof performance, thermal insulation, strong deformation resistance, less cracking, stable structure, and strong sound absorption, but the price is too expensive. The formula and ratio of insulation boards are disorderly and unstable, resulting in poor physical stability and poor insulation effect of the boards;
Phenolic resin insulation board:
Phenolic insulation board is made of phenolic foam, which is mainly composed of phenol and formaldehyde. It is a closed cell rigid foam made of phenolic resin added with foaming agent, curing agent and other additives. It has the characteristics of fire prevention, insulation, corrosion and aging resistance, low density and light weight. With the maturity of technology, current phenolic boards have the characteristics of non aging and non shrinkage. They do not ignite when exposed to fire, do not melt or shrink, and have no dripping objects. The reuse rate can reach 60% to 80%, and the heat dissipation loss is less than 2%.
