Fire rating of phenolic board

fireproof Phenolic insulation board

Phenolic board is a type of building material that is often used in building construction and interior decoration. Today, Meilin Decoration will take you closer to phenolic panels to see what they are and how their functions are reflected. Like many panels, phenolic panels also have fire ratings. Therefore, today we will also take a look at the fire rating of phenolic panels.
1、 What is phenolic board?
Phenolic board is made of phenolic foam material. Phenolic foam material is a polymer organic hard aluminum foil foam product, which is foamed by thermosetting phenolic resin. Phenolic foam, known as the “king of thermal insulation materials”, is a new generation of thermal insulation, fire prevention and sound insulation materials. It has the properties of light weight, fire resistance, non combustion in case of open fire, smoke-free, non-toxic, and non dripping. As a safe and green new energy-saving building material, phenolic foam has been recognized by the construction department and the fire department for its advantages.
2、 Phenolic board reflects its function
Phenolic board has advantages such as lightweight, non-toxic, corrosion-free, thermal insulation, energy-saving, sound insulation, and low cost. It does not require Freon foam, has no environmental pollution, good processability, and is easy to construct. Its comprehensive performance is unmatched by various insulation materials. Suitable for insulation of central air conditioning systems in high-end and high-rise buildings such as hotels, apartments, and hospitals. It has indisputable comprehensive advantages in cold insulation for refrigeration and cold storage, as well as insulation for industrial pipelines and equipment such as petrochemicals, building partitions, exterior composite panels, suspended ceilings, sound-absorbing panels, etc. It solves the problem of poor fire performance of other organic materials, while inorganic materials have high water absorption rate, are prone to “condensation”, and skin itching during construction. It is the third-generation best insulation material for air conditioning systems and various electrical appliances.
3、 Fire rating of phenolic board

As an emerging and commonly used building material, what is the fire resistance rating of phenolic board? To understand the fire rating of phenolic panels, we first need to clarify the classification of fire resistant panels. A1 grade is absolutely non combustible and no toxic fumes are generated; A2 grade non combustible, with a certain amount of toxic smoke generated but meeting the detection standards; B1 flame retardant; B2 non combustible; B3 Flammable. However, in the market, there are very few A-grade fire-resistant panels, so most of them are B-grade. However, phenolic panels belong to the B1-A2 grade in terms of fire resistance, so phenolic panels are considered good fire-resistant panels among fire-resistant panels.
