So the question is, there are so many insulation materials on the market, which one should we choose?
At present, there are three main categories of insulation materials on the market:
One is the plate-like material:
Extruded polystyrene board (XPS board):
Extruded polystyrene board is a type of foamed material, mainly processed from liquid foaming agents and polystyrene beads. It has unparalleled thermal insulation performance, as well as high compression resistance, non water absorption, and wear resistance. It is widely used in roof insulation systems and is a cost-effective insulation material. However, due to the high strength of XPS board itself, it is brittle, not easy to bend, and has poor breathability, which makes it difficult to bond with plastering mortar and easily falls off;
Polyurethane insulation board:
Polyurethane insulation board is an insulation board made of polyurethane hard foam as the core material and covered with a non decorative surface layer on both sides. It has many advantages, such as low thermal conductivity, good thermal performance, moisture-proof and waterproof performance, thermal insulation, strong deformation resistance, less prone to cracking, stable structure, and strong sound absorption, but the price is too expensive. The formula and ratio of insulation board are disorderly and unstable, resulting in poor physical stability and poor insulation effect of the board;
Phenolic insulation board:
Phenolic insulation board is made by foaming thermosetting phenolic resin, which has strong wetting ability and good molding performance. It has the characteristics of fire prevention, insulation, corrosion and aging resistance, low density and light weight. It overcomes the shortcomings of the original foamed plastic insulation material, such as flammability, smoke and deformation in case of heat, and retains the characteristics of the original foamed plastic insulation material, such as light weight and convenient construction. Phenolic insulation board has excellent dimensional stability and will not experience shrinkage, deformation, or other issues in any environment.
